Artur has worked for more than 15 years on forest governance, international cooperation and sustainable development, particularly in the Amazon. Over the years, he has worked across Brazil, Latin America and Europe with public institutions, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, civil society organisations, ", donors and private-sector partners.

His background combines environmental management, urbanism and applied research. Much of his work has focused on REDD+, climate and nature finance, socio-bioeconomy, sustainable landscapes, public policy and the design and evaluation of environmental programmes. Alongside his consulting work, Artur is a Professional Fellow at FGV Europe and an associated researcher at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau. He was previously an Affiliate Scholar at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Potsdam as well as research associate in the PRODIGY project, at the Freie Universität Belrin.

He created MKX as a platform for work that connects experience from Amazonian territories with international cooperation, finance and public policy. 

The focus is practical: helping institutions develop programmes, partnerships and strategies that are grounded in local realities.
