Forest Governance & International Cooperation
We are an independent advisory platform connecting Amazon realities with public policy and international cooperation.Â
MKX is an independent advisory led by Artur Sgambatti Monteiro. It brings more than 15 years of experience across the Amazon, Latin America, Europe and Africa, combining field-based knowledge with policy analysis, programme strategy and international cooperation.
Its sits at the intersection of forest governance, climate finance, territorial development and socioenvironmental safeguards. We work with governments, donors, civil-society organisations, research institutions and territorial organisations to translate complex environmental challenges into practical strategies, programmes and evidence.

Territory first:
Start from institutions, people, incentives and constraints on the ground, rather than forcing local realities into donor terminology.
Bridge scales:
Connect community and territorial perspectives with national policy, international cooperation and climate/nature finance.
Evidence with judgement:
Combine quantitative evidence, policy analysis and qualitative knowledge to support decisions, not merely to produce reports.
Participation as governance:
Treat consultation, Indigenous and local knowledge, and stakeholder engagement as part of programme design and accountability, not as a procedural annex.
